Dear friends and supporters of WIHS radio:

WIHS finshed well in 2017!  How grateful all of us at the station are for your prayerful and financial support of this ministry throughout the year.  We are starting 2018 in a good place because of God's blessing and your gracious help!

Perhaps we saw you somewhere along the way during 2017.  Beyond our attendance at the National Religious Broadcasters' Convention in Orlando last winter, we were 'out and about' locally over the past year at the National Day of Prayer ceremony - Middletown; the Capital Prayer Breakfast - Hartford; the 50th Anniversary of First Church of God - Hartford; Elim Park Place - Cheshire; Faith Bible Church - Winsted; and Brookdale - Farmington.   Maybe we saw you at WIHS for the 17th Annual Wheels for the World Collection Drive when our listeners dropped off 1,109 mibility devices for the disabled in Romania.  Then again, we may have seen you during our weeklong Bible collection drive which prodeced 1,269 Bibles that have been sent to people in third world countries.  You may have been one of the 500 people who came to the WIHS 48th Anniversary Celebration Banquet in October.  What a blessing it was to have both Luis Palau and Damaris Carbaugh minister to us at that memorable event.  It was the third year in a row our banquet sold out 10 days in advance!  Wherever we saw you in 2017, we are glad for your partnership with WIHS and thank you for helping us finish the year well!

We said some 'hellos' and ''goodbys' during 2017.  After 10 years of service the Lord as an Office Assistant at WIHS, Tina Clegg retired last May.  We are not only grateful for the great job she did here, but also happy that she lives close by and is willing and wanting to fill-in whenever we need her!  On July 13th, we were deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Sean Edenburn.  Sean was a veteran broadcaster who loved life, his family and being part of the WIHS family for 20 years.  David Spicer was our Music Director for just 15 months before the Lord called him to Heaven on January 18th, 2017.  His knowledge of sacred music and the Scripture made it a solid fit for his work at WIHS.  With the passing of these two men I am reminded of Paul's words in II Cor. 6:10, that we are'sorrowful, yet always rejoicing'.  We grieve their loss and remember their families in prayer, but rejoice that because of Christ we will see them again in Glory!  Additionally, two of our ministry programmers entered eternity in 2017.  Morm Nelson, host of Compassion Radio, died on April 10th, and the Founder of Renewing Your Mind, R.C. Sproul, departed this life on December 14th.  Both Norm and R.C. are examples of men who finished well!  Meanwhile, we welcomed aboard the WIHS staff T Sterling Watson (announcer) Dennis DeLuzio (music director) and Jen Wessoleck (office Assistant).  After a few years away, Jack Pike (announcer) returned to the airwaves of WIJS.  Our roaster of Bread of Life pastors expanded in 2017 with the edition of Pastors Rodney Wade, Jim Wegner, Tom Tinker, Scott MacDonald, and Michael Mitchell.  Pastor Larry Wooldridge was a contributor to the Bread of Life series for many years before he moved to Florida in June to retire.

A huge thank you once again for helping us complete our antenna project in September, 2017!  We will have more exciting things to share with you about the opportunities God is giving to us in 2018 and ahead into our 50th Anniversary year in 2019.  So please stay tuned to 'Your Station for Inspirationan and Information" WIHS to learn more!

Keep looking up until He comes!
